Volunteering

Maybe you have skills and life experiences that you want to share, perhaps you’re looking to develop new skills in a care environment or you might simply have some time to spare to make a difference to the lives of those we care for. Whatever your reason for volunteering, The Northam Care Trust will be grateful for your time and value your input.

Volunteering Opportunities

Gardening

Turn a passion into an act of kindness and share your love of horticulture! We are looking for green fingered volunteers to join our gardening team and work alongside the people we support. Have fun taking care of our grounds, allotments, raised beds, and our potting shed plants.

Whether you are an experienced plantsman, someone looking to give back to your community, or are looking to get out into nature more, this is a perfect opportunity for all! A knowledge of gardening would be helpful but we are happy to consider those with less experience.

Driving

You will need a Full UK category D1 or B driving licence, aged over 21 with more than two years driving experience, and be competent to drive our minibuses to help our clients access the community.  We are looking for drivers to assist staff in taking the people we support swimming on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  If you would be happy to support our clients in the pool this would also be helpful.

We will offer you full support, guidance & mentoring.  An enhanced DBS will be undertaken alongside two references.
