AQA Awards Ceremony - 153 Certificates Awarded!

On Friday the 30th of January 2026, The Northam Care Trust and families came together for a very special celebration, our AQA awards ceremony!

The room was full of smiles, applause, and an overwhelming sense of pride as we recognised the achievements of everyone who has taken part in the AQA Unit Award Scheme. In total, an incredible 153 certificates were presented, each one representing hard work, personal growth, and dedication from the people we support.

Some of the certificates presented were for 'Road Safety in the community', 'understanding and following a recipe', 'fire safety', 'signing', and many, many more!

Through the AQA Unit Award Scheme, learners are rewarded with a certificate every time they complete a unit of learning. This means that every achievement is formally recognised, and learners can build a meaningful portfolio of certificates that evidence their skills, knowledge, and experience. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate progress, boost confidence, and shine a light on all the learning that happens within our Day Service.

We are extremely proud that Cindy (Day Service Manager) and Katie (Day Service Coordinator) are both qualified to facilitate the Unit Award Scheme. Thanks to their commitment and expertise, those we support have access to over 900 individual units of learning, covering everything from creative arts and practical life skills to communication, wellbeing, and community engagement. Each completed unit is recognised through an official AQA certificate, giving learners a real sense of achievement.

The ceremony was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when we empower people to aim high and celebrate every step of their learning journey. The pride and joy on everyone’s faces was truly incredible to witness and reflects the heart of our mission, supporting people with disabilities to live their best lives!
