On the 5th of December, our CEO, Jo, and Finance Director, Katy, attended the Stars of LD&A Awards as Jo was a finalist for the Visionary Leadership Award! We're super proud to say that Jo won Highly Commended in this category, a fitting accolade for all that she has done at the Trust!
The Visionary Leadership award recognises "senior leaders who drive meaningful improvements in learning disability and autism support through strategic vision and influence. Celebrating individuals who lead with integrity, inspire progress, and shape transformative services. Honouring professionals who create innovative policies, champion equity, and set the standard for leadership excellence in care and advocacy." as stated by the Stars of LD&A Awards.
Jo's recognition description for the category was:
"Jo is recognised for her exceptional 42-year career in adult social care, spanning roles from care worker and social worker to CEO, regulator, and innovator. Her extensive experience across sectors equips her to advocate effectively for both the people supported and her staff. Jo has driven transformative improvements, championed inclusion, and ensured services focus on dignity, empowerment, and opportunity. Through visionary leadership, she has turned failing services around, fostered a culture of learning and compassion, and continues to enhance lives, including fundraising for a hydrotherapy pool."
Jo humbly dedicates her award to our Senior Team and overall workforce, quoting "We were delighted to be awarded highly commended at the national Stars in Learning disabilities and Autism Awards, which celebrates the great work in this sector.
For a small charity like ours this recognition means so much. The award was for inspirational leadership and our senior team do a fabulous job of ensuring people get the best care, but the biggest shout out needs to go to our carers who do outstanding work each and every day!"
Congratulations, Jo, on a well-deserved accolade for your time at the Trust.
