Learning Disability Week is an annual celebration the third week of June that shines a spotlight on individuals with learning disabilities. This year, Learning Disability Week runs from Monday the 16th of June to Sunday the 22nd of June 2025. The week is dedicated to raising awareness, promoting understanding, and advocating for the rights and inclusion of people with learning disabilities.
This year's theme is "Do you see me?" which is all about being seen, heard, and valued.

What You Can Do
How to Get Involved
Educate Yourself and Others: Take the time to learn about different learning disabilities and share this knowledge with your community. Social posts, websites, and other online resources can be great starting points.
Participate in Events: Many organisations host events such as fundraisers, webinars, workshops, and community gatherings. Participating in these events can be a great way to show support. We have a number of events coming up in 2025, including a summer celebration, Mamma Mia outdoor cinema and more! Click here to check them out.
Advocate for Change: Use your voice to advocate for inclusive policies in schools, workplaces, and public spaces. Writing to local representatives or participating in advocacy groups can make a difference.
Support Local Organisations: Consider donating to or volunteering with organisations that support individuals with learning disabilities. Your contributions can help provide essential services and resources. If you'd like to support us, you can donate here or support our fundraising events here.
Celebrate Achievements: Highlight and celebrate the achievements of individuals with learning disabilities in your community. Recognising their successes fosters a positive and inclusive environment. For example, Darcy, as pictured below, recently completed the gold Duke of Edinburgh award. This required a lot of hard work across a number of different activities. We are super proud of his achievement, well done Darcy!

Why Learning Disability Week 2025 Matters
Learning Disability Week is a powerful reminder that everyone deserves the chance to reach their full potential. By embracing diversity, promoting understanding, and advocating for inclusive practices, we can create a society where individuals with learning disabilities are empowered to thrive.
Let's use this week to celebrate the achievements of people with learning disabilities, support their journeys, and commit to making our communities more inclusive for all. Together, we can make a difference!
